We survived our first weekend. Things got a little scary on friday night when the crowds came in but we kept our heads above water and survived the wave. If you haven’t been by yet, please stop by, say hello and sample some fantastic tap beer.

Things are starting to move forward with the build out of our store. We have had some electrical work done and the plumbing is in.
We were expecting the wood for our floors to be delivered this week and when it arrived we found out that we had no way of getting it off the truck. 2000 square feet of floor boards were loaded onto the truck by forklift on 3 double pallets each weighing several hundred pounds. We didn’t have a forklift or a loading dock so we had to offload the wood by hand, one piece at a time.
Luckily, we were able to enlist my son and some of his high school buddies to help. Even with their help, it was 4 hours of backbreaking work in 90 degree heat. By the time we were done, I couldn’t stand up completely straight and I was drenched in sweat.
Not only did we have to hand carry each piece of wood into the store, but we had to restack it so it would not warp while waiting to have it installed. This was another 2 -hour job on our Saturday morning. I couldn’t help but think: “Boy this is a glamorous life owning a craft beer store”.
